United Way of Southwest Minnesota Announces Personal Hygiene Drive

United Acts of Kindness Week is November 18-22. During that week, United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) will be encouraging the act of spreading kindness to others.  As a part of that effort, UWSWMN is coordinating a Personal Hygiene Drive during the month of October to benefit area food shelves, crisis programs, schools, etc. Personal hygiene items are an on-going need at various schools and human service providers. Items will be distributed during United Acts of Kindness Week.

All items will stay local and will benefit youth, families and seniors in the UWSWMN service area. We are accepting all types of personal care items, but are focusing on band-aids, toilet paper and feminine hygiene products, as these items are a high need and aren’t typically provided in the quantity needed. Only brand new; unopened items will be accepted. We ask that items be full-sized, but will also accept travel-sized items.

Monetary contributions can be donated to UWSWMN and will be used to purchase discounted items in bulk. Donations can be sent to: United Way of SW MN, PO Box 41, Marshall, MN 56258. Note “Hygiene Drive” on the memo line.

Hygiene items can be dropped off at the UWSWMN office located at 800 East Main St. in Marshall, by November 4, 2019. You may also contact us to arrange a pickup by calling (507)-929-2273 or emailing unitedway@unitedwayswmn.org.
