New Board Directors for United Way of Southwest Minnesota

United Way of Southwest Minnesota has new directors beginning their board terms in the 2021-22 fiscal year.  New directors include: Curt Schake, Cottonwood, North Star Mutual Insurance Company; Molly Peterson, Garvin, Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging; Shawna Christianson, Lake Benton, Vivayic; Hayley Fruin, Bremer Bank. 

The UWSWMN Board of Directors is responsible for the overall philosophy, vision, mission, direction and policies of our organization and they delegate responsibility of the day-today operations to the president & CEO.  Members of the board serve on various committees to assist with their responsibilities, including:  Personnel/Nominating/Governance; Resource Development; Community Impact; Finance; and Executive.

Returning directors are:  Al Castor, Marshall, Lockwood Motors; Julie Hartle, Cottonwood, Schwan’s Shared Services, LLC; Brian Jeremiason, Minneota, Lyon-Lincoln Electric Cooperative., Inc.; Joseph Karanja, Marshall, City of Marshall; Krista Kopperud, Currie, Painted Prairie Vineyard; Terry Kriz, Marshall, Runnings; See Moua-Leske, Marshall, Southwest Adult Basic Education; Rachel Nuese, Hendricks, Schwan’s Shared Services, LLC; Melanie Pedersen, Marshall, U.S. Bank; Kevin Veldhuisen, Marshall, Presbytery of South Dakota; Michelle Warme, Marshall, retired community member; Hans Zahrbock, Marshall, Western Equipment Finance.
