- Parenting Education Presentations to be held March 19, 2013

Do you want to raise happy, responsible and emotionally healthy children?  Are you looking for new ways to resolve conflict?  Do you want to build trust and respect?   Parenting education presentations will be held in this area on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 to help address these concerns.  The programs will feature Paul Bernabei and Willow Sweeney from Top 20 Training, a nationally recognized education training program based in Minnesota.

Four different programs will be held:  A teacher/coach program from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. and a general public program from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.   The educator and public presentations will be held at the Marshall High School Theater.  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for a free Parent Resource Fair with over 14 area organizations providing information about family resources.

During the afternoon two student presentations will originate from Minneota Public Schools (live and webcast to area schools).

Since 2000, Top 20 Training has been empowering youth and adults to make a positive difference in the quality of their lives, relationships and experiences.  The founders of Top 20 Training believe in the potential of each human being.  Top 20 Training offers a simple language that helps people discover critical thing, learning and communicating skills.  The training helps parents find ways to enhance and become a part of their child's education and to communicate more effectively and improve their relationship with their children.

Teachers and coaches will discover immediately applicable tools for developing the potential of their students and find effective ways to reduce negativity in the school culture. The information for students will help them look for better relationships and experiences in the classroom, with friends and at home.

This is the sixth year that a parenting education program is offered free of charge to the community.  This year's presentation is underwritten by generous supporters including:  United Way of Southwest Minnesota; Success By 6; Marshall ECFE and Little Cubs Preschool; Minneota Public Schools; St. Stephen Lutheran Church-Youth and Family Ministry; First Lutheran Church - Youth and Family Ministries; Marshall Radio; Sanford Tracy Medical Center; Marshall Public Schools PTA; Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center; Comfort Inn; House of Hope; ChildCare Aware of Minnesota; University of Minnesota Extension; RTR Elementary School PTSA; Western Community Action Head Start; Southwest Health and Human Services; Marshall Public Schools; Marshall Women of Today and Xi Beta Epsilon.
