Youth Development Program receives Community Impact Grant

The Youth Development Program of United Community Action Partnership has been awarded a community impact grant from the United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) for $3,000. The Youth Development Programs help youth create, foster, and strengthen relationships with positive caring adults and help them build decision-making and life skills to help prepare them for a successful future. This work aligns with UWSWMN’s Safety & Well-being priority area.

UWSWMN makes a difference in the lives of local people by investing in programs focused on the health, education, financial stability, hunger, and safety & well-being of people living in our service area.  Our service area includes the communities we serve in Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Yellow Medicine, and portions of Cottonwood, Lac qui Parle, Nobles, and Redwood counties in Minnesota.

Community impact grants are the primary way UWSWMN invests donations into our communities.  The community impact grant process involves local volunteers who help review funding requests and work together to make funding recommendations to our board of directors.  For the 2023-24 funding cycle, a total of $212,000 has been awarded to programs working to improve the lives of local people.
