The UWSWMN Board of Directors recently approved two small grants! The small grant program is another way we impact our communities and local people by providing one-time grants, up to $5,000, to programs that align with UWSWMN’s priority areas.
Lincoln Elementary in Ivanhoe received a $4,200 small grant for their new Makerspace program. This program is STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) focused and will allow children to explore, invent and collaborate. They will be starting as soon as April 2021 with three stations and will add an additional three stations for the 2021-2022 school year. Have fun learning!
Neighbors United Resource Center in Granite Falls received a $2,675 small grant to improve access & sanitation needs in the entry/waiting area of the Food Shelf. This will allow them to be prepared when patrons can return to in-house food distribution. The Food Shelf has adapted well during the pandemic and has been offering car side delivery. Thank you to this group comprised of all volunteers that are dedicated to operating the Food Shelf/Resource Center in Granite Falls!
