Education.  Income.  Health.  Safety & Well-Being.  Hunger.  The building blocks of our community outreach.

United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) unites people and resources to improve lives in the area with a focus on education, income (financial stability), health, safety & well-being, and hunger—the building blocks for a good quality of life. UWSWMN achieves these goals by convening the community to address key issues, collaborating to achieve measureable impact, and connecting human and financial resources. Your dollar goes further with UWSWMN because we’re not doing our work alone. In 2014, we partnered with more than thirty community partner programs and delivered on more than a dozen UWSWMN programs & initiatives furthering the network of human services and volunteerism in the region. Please review the chart below to see what programs are supported where you live.

Through our investment in community impact, we work to make sure people get the support services they need right now while simultaneously addressing the root causes of key issues – that’s how we create true community impact. We know that by improving education for all children, we’re setting them on the path to high school graduation and college success. We know that those children will go on to hold skilled jobs and be financially equipped to support their families. We know that good health is directly linked to a successful life. Most importantly, we realize that when we improve education, income and health at a community level, we all benefit.  And that when people's nutritional needs are met and they feel safe, they are able to live a better life.  That’s what LIVING UNITED looks like in Southwest Minnesota.
