Having just wrapped up our annual giving campaign, UWSWMN is now ready to move to the next step: investing the funds raised in local programs that improve the lives of local people. We are excited to announce that we are now accepting community impact grant applications through our online process.
United Way fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community. In southwest Minnesota, we focus on health, education, financial stability, hunger and safety & well-being. All programs that apply for funding must meet our guidelines including, but not limited to: aligning to at least one of our priority areas; serving people in our service area; and operating as a 501(c)(3) organization, public school or unit of government. Full guidelines, including a listing of our service area, are available on our website at UnitedWaySWMN.org/CIG. UWSWMN is excited to welcome new grant requests that have not applied in the past, as long as they meet our guidelines.
In order to give you the best chance of success with your application, UWSWMN requires attendance by a program representative at one of our grant workshops. These workshops are free and are designed for applicants to learn more about the UWSWMN grant process and helpful tips in grant writing. Workshops will be held virtually via Zoom on the following dates/times: Tuesday, March 1 from 9:30 am -10:30 am and Thursday, March 10 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm. RSVPs are required for planning purposes to unitedway@unitedwayswmn.org or by calling 507-929-2273.
The grant application deadline is Friday, April 1, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. with no extensions being granted. All applications will be submitted online. All submitted grant applications that meet our requirements will be reviewed by a team of trained community volunteers who will make recommendations on funding to the UWSWMN board of directors.
