D&G Excavating Inc. Invests in United Way of Southwest Minnesota

D&G Excavating Inc. held its workplace campaign to benefit United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN).  Employees contributed $7,235 through payroll pledges and donations.  D&G Excavating Inc. made a matching contribution of $7,235 for a total campaign of $14,470.

D & G Excavating, Inc. was founded in 1979 by Dave and Sharon Gruhot with only two employees.  They had an international dump truck, a Poclain excavator, and a Caterpillar 950 loader, which the company still uses today.  The business was a family-run operation based out of the basement of Dave and Sharon's home until they constructed their current office building next to their main shop in 1994.  On February 12, 2007, Brian and Kristin Gruhot bought D & G Excavating, allowing Dave and Sharon to retire.  They are the second-generation owners, with their son David next in line to be the third-generation owner, and he is excited to face the challenges of a rapidly changing industry.

UWSWMN is proud to have D&G Excavating, Inc. as a part of our local workplaces holding a UWSWMN campaign.  We are grateful for the ongoing support of D&G Excavating.  We want to thank D&G Excavating Inc. and its employees for supporting us and working together to go further.

United Way of Southwest Minnesota fights for every community member's health, education, and financial stability.  In southwest Minnesota, we focus on health, education, financial stability, hunger,  and safety & well-being.
