Michelle Warme
Co-Treasurer
Board Member since 2020

I live in Marshall and worked for the Schwan Company for over 40 years. I officially retired in 2017 but have gotten the opportunity to return twice as a project analyst supporting the payroll department. My daughter and son-in-law live in Hutchinson, MN, with my three wonderful grandchildren, Eli (11), Ezra (8), and Eva (6).

My introduction to UWSWMN was in 2011 when I was invited to serve on a Community Impact Grant review panel. I remember leaving the first set of meetings not only far more aware of the agencies’ purpose and the people they served but completely humbled. The individuals who presented the grant applications were dedicated and passionate, and the people who benefited were assisted through difficult times in their lives by the services the agencies offered.

In November 2012, I joined the United Way board of directors and served until June 2019. I returned in July 2020 when asked to rejoin.

I interact with a very talented group of people as a member of the board of directors. We may each bring our own experience, unique personality, and point of view, but what we share is a common agenda expressed in our mission statement: Uniting people and resources to improve lives and strengthen communities in Southwest Minnesota. This is demonstrated through serving on committees, volunteering at events, and always acting as good stewards of the donations people generously make to the organization.
