Stuff the Bus

2010 Stuff the Bus school supply drive for Lyon & Lincoln County students was a huge success!  THANK YOU!

Click here to see photos from this year's Stuff the Bus events.

The Lyon County Alliance for Youth and Families would like to thank the people and groups who helped make a successful Stuff the Bus back to school supply drive possible.  Approximately 600 students in Lyon and Lincoln Counties will again benefit from the project this year.

United Way of Southwest Minnesota, The Salvation Army, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Lyon County Government Center employees and members of Lincoln and Lyon County churches provided grants or donations that were used to purchase supplies.  Southwest Coaches provided the use of a school bus to help collect school supplies at the Knology sponsored Coke event with Marshall Radio.

Several groups donated school supplies and financial donations, including employees at:  US Bank, ADM, North Star Mutual Insurance Company, Bremer Bank, Lions Club of Marshall, Marshall Radio, SW/WC Service Cooperative, ACMC and several groups at The Schwan Food Company.  In addition, a number of individuals donated school supplies at donation boxes located at Kmart, Shopko, Wal-Mart, HyVee, County Fair and the Marshall Area YMCA.

Volunteers from Community Plus, the Minnesota Work Force Center, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray Human Services, Department of Corrections, House of Hope Minnesota, United Way and the community helped purchase, sort, pack and deliver school supplies.

As you can see from the listing above, this was a community involvement effort that we can all be proud of.  Thank you again for your help!
