| A community assessment and
priority setting project United Way of Southwest Minnesota believes that when a significant group of people voluntarily determine the human care agenda for the area in which we live, ultimately we can work effectively in partnership and better direct resources to maximize the benefit for people’s lives. United Way is undertaking a project that will bring 300 – 400 people together in small groups to converse and listen to their hopes and aspirations for each other and their families. We are calling this process Voices: Community Dialogues. To this end, United Way of Southwest Minnesota will bring together citizens and organizations of every description – business, government, health, education, funders, agencies, volunteers, neighborhood leaders, professionals, students, teachers, youth and young adults, employees, PTAs, senior citizens, churches – to partner in identifying what is important to our residents. After people have voiced goals and needs they truly care about, they will be more likely to step forward and take actions to make these changes happen. This is the driving force behind Voices: Community Dialogues. Area of Project: Lyon, Lincoln, Yellow Medicine, Murray and western Redwood Counties of Minnesota. |
